So, you’d finally like to get to grips with your engine’s performance, and find out what 320 hp feels like? That’s precisely why we’ve written the tuning guide for all 1.8T engines with code AEB. Here, we show you how to professionally tune your Passat or A4 in four stages. You’ll also find out all the products you need, and get valuable tips from Bartek personally.

BAR-TEK® TIP!
We recommend using 102-octane fuel. This will give your engine more power because it reduces knocking! The turbocharger shouldn’t be too old, and the engine should be in good condition. The foundation has to be right. To minimize carbon buildup and keep the engine clean, we recommend installing our TÜV-certified oil catch tank kit.

To bring the extra power on the road, you need a sport clutch. If you build our RS Turbo, you can drive even more power and the turbo lasts much longer than the normal K04, as it can not transmit the power. For the conversion to K04-015 turbocharger you have to install a racing cat and our upgrade air mass meter.

BAR-TEK® TIP!

If you already have a Sportkat, a suction hose and an upgrade intercooler installed, you can use it again. The Sportkat is very important for the 1.8T engines in the Passat and Audi A4. Because the catalytic converter sits just behind the turbocharger, the exhaust gas temperature is too high. Our Sportkat upgrade prevents this and lowers the temperature with less exhaust backpressure. If you want to land at 250 hp, order directly the Tuning Kit Level 3!

320 hp: This is an announcement! To drive this performance, you'll need to replace your connecting rods with H-shaft connecting rods. So that then the 320 hp also get on the road, a sports clutch kit is required. The exhaust must be a 76 mm exhaust system. The fuel pump should be the upgrade version, otherwise motor death threatens by leaning.

BAR-TEK® TIP!

This conversion requires good software tuning. You can send us your ECU or have your vehicle tuned directly in our workshop. Another tip from us: You should build the downpipe in 70 mm, as it is very narrow at the Passat and Audi A4 below the axle body to the body. You should put the catalyst down. This reduces the exhaust gas temperature and protects the turbocharger!

The thermal load increases and affects all areas of your vehicle, even the transmission suffers from the new power. At best, the hard-earned power is reduced again; at worst, your engine suffers major damage. So that you can tune your engine safely and reliably, we provide you with everything you need for perfect cooling. Although it is ideal to install all parts together in a cooling bundle, you don't necessarily have to order everything at once. Each product helps you to improve cooling.

His first car was a Polo Mk1 with a 40 Weber twin carburetor and 129 PS (95 kW). His second was an Audi 50. Today Bartek tunes Lamborghinis to 1000 PS (735 kW). Even as a young boy, Bartek disassembled vehicles and put everything back together better. He wrote his high school diploma with oil on his fingers. The trained automotive mechanic with a focus on engines and gearboxes was determined to go into motorsports. In his 10 years in Formal 1, he supervised 73 races, including as engine mechanic for Ralf Schumacher at Toyota. Since 2010, he has dedicated himself fully to his company BAR-TEK® and helps his customers to bring VW and Audi engines to peak performance.
