Pressure regulators at high speeds
Wastegates are a great support for turbochargers. Because, at high speeds, your engine hits its thermal and mechanical limits quickly. Things get particularly critical should these limits be exceeded. The wastegate, also called bypass valve, opens if a certain boost is reached and then directs exhaust gas directly to the exhaust pipe, i.e. past the turbine. At low speeds, the valve closes and the entire exhaust gas drives the turbine and the compressor again.
TiAL wastegates for highest tuning requirements
Since a wastegate is positioned in the exhaust stream, it is exposed to permanent heat and correspondingly much stress and wear. This is why we rely on wastegates by TiAL, which are of a very high quality and heat-resistant. TiAL housings and valves are made of stainless steel, the inner membrane of flame-resistant and heat-resistant Nomex®, which is additionally reinforced. The spring is also made of stainless steel, which guarantees a constant spring rate across the entire temperature range. From a spring rate of 1.0 bar, dual springs must be used. Our wastegates are suitable for engines of up to approx. 600 hp.- External wastegates with water cooling meet the highest tuning requirements, especially when it comes to car racing. The charge air is water-cooled, enabling you to achieve even more power. In addition, the wastegates are available in different colors including silver, black, purple, blue and red.
