Oil cooler flange
Designed by the motorsport pros: the BAR-TEK® oil cooler flange
If a component doesn’t meet our high standards, we don’t hang about – we simply design a new one. And this is how the BAR-TEK® oil cooler flange was born.
Here you can find out how come our flange is many times better than anything you’ve known before.
The story of the next-generation BAR-TEK oil cooler flange
1) Introduction
An additional oil cooler is particularly required for performance-enhanced vehicles in order to keep the oil temperature within an optimal range of approx. 80°C under their high loads and demands. The service life of the engine is thus positively influenced, which includes constant oil pressure as well as preventing all engine gaskets from hardening.
To establish the connection between engine and oil cooler, an oil cooler flange is required in addition to the lines, which is located between engine block and oil filter. Such flanges have existed for a long time, but the BAR-TEK team has researched and further developed this system.
2) Mounting
Originally, the adapter screw was fastened using a 25.4 mm (1 inch) hex key. However, due to the small design, it is very difficult to align the oil cooler flange and fasten it at the same time. In addition, not everyone has the appropriate tool at hand.
We came up with a better solution and decided on a screw for use with a 12 mm internal hex socket. This allowed us to achieve a smaller overall size and makes mounting child’s play. The screw is made of high-quality steel and then yellow zinc-plated.

Here is the existing problem:
The open-end wrench does not fit snugly on the hexagon because of the oil channels
