Alu DSG cooler from CSF for your 2.0L TSI EA888 of the 3rd generation.
The factory coolant comes from the engine block into a Y-piece, where it divides into the engine water cooler and then into the DSG cooler. This DSG cooler is surprisingly small and does not have the size or efficiency to exchange heat before it leaves the cooler and leads to the DSG oil / water heat exchanger.
When the engine coolant is hot and the DSG oil is hot, which is the case when cars are driven at a power higher than the standard or on the track, this hot coolant now has little or no cooling effect on the DSG oil and the DSG temperatures begin to rise.
If the oil temperature is high, there is a risk that the DSG will be damaged. To prevent damage, the DSG begins to reduce the torque, increase the shift times and, under extreme circumstances, gears can be lost. In the worst case, the gearbox can be costly damaged.
After extensive analysis and development, the CSF has developed a Quadruple Pass DSG cooler that offers increased cooling performance compared to the OEM cooler in a number of areas.
Features:
The CSF Quadruple Pass DSG cooler uses a 2-row 42mm core that uses all available space. The B-tube design maximizes tube efficiency in all areas, this tube design is stronger than 0-tubes, less material can be used for easier and more efficient heat transfer, while the surface area inside the tube is increased by 15% compared to 0-tubes.
The quadruple pass design means that the coolant flows through the core four times before it exits, maximizing the time the cooler has to exchange heat for the coldest exit temperature.
This unique design results in an increase in flow area by 42% and an increase in heat dissipation by 36%. Helps keep DSG temperatures constantly cooler for longer. The cooler also comes complete with a removable stone guard for improved durability against stone chipping.
Fits to: 8V S3, 8S TT (2.0TSi), MK7 Golf R, 5F Leon Cupra
