Aluminum connecting rods are used particularly at sustained high speeds and temperatures. Perfect for drag racing and long touring races.

In engines with extreme performance, an aluminum connecting rod acts like a shock absorber between the piston and the crankshaft. Without the dampening effect of the aluminum, the bearing shells can start to flutter, the crankshaft can break, the main bearings can start to turn or even break. An aluminum connecting rod ensures that all components withstand the loads of an engine with extreme performance.

Then there is the weight. An aluminum connecting rod is significantly lighter than a steel connecting rod, so that your engine revs up much faster and is much easier to turn. The connecting rods also have no bushings for the piston pin. The aluminum is so perfectly worked and represents an excellent contact surface, so that the piston pin runs directly in the aluminum.
