Next generation UHF turbine
Xona's patented Ultra High Flow (UHF) turbine wheel sets a new standard for performance turbochargers. The UHF design allows a flow similar to a larger diameter turbine wheel. This is achieved with Xona's splitter blades, giving you all the benefits of a larger turbine wheel without the associated disadvantage of inertia. The result is better boost pressure response and less power loss due to back pressure.
Double-row ball bearing cartridge
With silicon nitride ceramic balls, M62 tool steel races and metal cages, Xona's double-row bearing cartridge ensures robustness under the most extreme operating conditions. This exclusive bearing system was developed in collaboration with one of the most renowned German manufacturers of high-precision rolling bearings.
CNC-machined stainless steel center housing
The core of each Xona turbocharger is a fully machined, high-strength 17-4PH stainless steel center housing with a true 360-degree jacket. The 360-degree jacket, allows the turbine seal face to be completely encased in coolant. As a result, this center housing can increase the endurance of the turbocharger by preventing the piston rings from collapsing at high temperatures.
Double piston rings
Most performance turbochargers today use a single piston ring to seal the shaft at each end. In contrast, Xona turbochargers use double rings on both the compressor and turbine sides, reducing oil leakage and gas ingress. By distributing the seal load over two rings, the wear rate is also reduced and seal life is extended.
Integrated oil filter and modular oil drain
A large-volume "last ditch" oil filter element is integrated into the oil inlet cavity of the Xona center housing. This feature protects the bearing system from oil contamination and ensures long bearing life. At the oil outlet of the center housing is a modular oil drain surface designed to accommodate a variety of bolt spacing configurations.
