Description

The use of an anti-lag system makes it possible to maintain the turbo speed and thus the boost pressure during the starting phase and gearshift pauses.

There are two types of anti-lag systems. In the simple version, the throttle valve is opened slightly, more fuel is injected and the ignition is adjusted towards late. This method puts a lot of strain on conrods and the crankshaft and often leads to damage.

The second version uses a valve to divert the charge air upstream of the throttle valve into the individual exhaust pipes of the exhaust manifold upstream of the turbocharger. This system is gentle on the engine and is used in rally cars.

The Turbosmart eALV40 has a valve diameter of 40 mm and a special housing with an electronic servomotor. The electric servomotor enables very fast and precise control of the valve, even at high back pressures.

An outlet flange is required for installation, this must be ordered separately:

  • 6 cylinders: TS-0550-3114
  • 5 / 10 cylinders: TS-0550-3104
  • 4 / 8 cylinders: TS-0550-3098
  • 3 / 6 cylinders: TS-0550-3099
  • 2 cylinders: TS-0550-3100

An inlet flange is also required:

  • TS-0550-3101
