With the turbine housings for Garrett turbochargers you can configure the turbo according to your own ideas. This makes sense if, for example, you want to adapt the turbocharger for a different engine displacement with different A/R values. Housings with different flanges can also be installed.


Determine the A/R value correctly:
The A/R value determines the exhaust gas flow capacity of the turbine housing and is therefore largely responsible for the performance characteristics of the turbocharger and engine. As a general rule: the smaller the A/R value, the earlier the turbocharger spools, but on the other hand the exhaust backpressure increases and the maximum power decreases.
