With the turbine housings for Garrett turbocharger you can assemble the turbo according to your own ideas. This makes sense insofar as, for example, you want to adapt the turbo for a different engine displacement with other A/R values. Housings with other flanges can also be fitted.


Determining the A/R value correctly:
The A/R value determines the exhaust flow of the turbine housing and is therefore largely responsible for the performance characteristics of turbocharger and engine. As a general rule: the smaller the A/R value, the earlier the turbocharger responds; on the other hand, however, the exhaust backpressure increases and the maximum power decreases.
