Actuators – perfect control of your wastegates

Actuators

Actuators are used for the control of wastegates and are therefore a part of the boost control. They are operated by the underpressure created in the intake stroke. Actuators ensure constant pressure in the higher speed ranges. Thanks to a high-quality actuator, your turbocharger shows an improved response and can thus unfold its full performance potential. Also, through the spring rate of the actuator, the turbocharger can be tweaked.

In our online shop, you will find actuators for various car brands and models. If you get stuck, please contact us. We’ll be glad to give you tips on installing and replacing your actuator.

Actuators for different turbochargers

We have actuators for different turbochargers (such as Garrett, BorgWarner and APR) and vehicle models (including Audi, VW, SEAT). For vehicles in which a K04 turbocharger is fitted as standard, for example, the Forge VAG K04 actuator is suitable. The aluminum actuator allows for a particularly good and fast response of the turbocharger. Owing to the spring rate, fine tuning is possible, so you can use the full power of your turbocharger.

For longitudinally mounted engines like in the Passat 1.8T, the adjustable K03 FORGE is the right actuator. It is particularly robust and of high quality. In addition, the modified spring rate also allows the fine tuning of the turbocharger.

Fine tuning of the wastegate with the tuning spring set by Forge

Anybody wanting to adapt and fine tune his wastegate perfectly to the turbocharger can perform an upgrade by means of springs. This allows you to adapt your turbocharger beautifully to your boost. The Forge spring tuning kit contains springs with different colors indicating the respective strengths. The strengths range from 0.35 bar to 1.4 bar. Take a spring that´s not too strong to ensure that the turbocharger is not damaged.
