Tired of defective pump tappets? The roller tappet kit from BAR-TEK® for the 2.0L TFSI high pressure pump offers the optimal solution!
The conversion kit to roller tappets has the advantage that the contact surface of the cam is much larger than the original cup tappet. As a result, the force can be distributed better and less friction and shear forces are generated at one point. This makes defective pump tappets a thing of the past. Defective pump tappets can irreparably damage the cam on the camshaft. Thus, the intake camshaft must be completely replaced. In addition, chips resulting from the defect can fall into the oil pan. There the balance shaft module sits together with the oil pump. A damage at this module causes mostly a capital engine damage.
Another advantage is the better guidance of the pump piston. Thus a leakage of the high pressure pump is prevented. The shaft seal of the high pressure pump can leak over time and fuel gets into the oil circuit. Consequently, the oil loses its lubricating properties and bearing damage occurs at the connecting rods!

After upgrading my audi tt 8j 2.0 TFSI to stage 3 the cam follower of my hpfp could not stand the pressure and wore off after 2000 km. Now with the conversion after 20000 km everything works like a charm! No wear and peace of mind!
