Cam followers for your engine tuning

Cam Followers
Hydraulic tappets (or cam followers) are parts in the valve train. They transmit the stroke of the camshaft to the valves and are among the moving masses in the engine - they should be as light as possible. That's why we recommend SCHRICK hydraulic valve tappets, which are about 30 grams lighter and much stronger than stock hydros. When installing a new camshaft, be sure to use new cam followers to ensure the warranty of the SCHRICK sport camshaft.

There are various reasons why hydraulic tappets start to rattle. Causes can be a lack of oil, insufficient oil pressure, incorrect oil or contamination. In addition, a mechanical defect can cause the tappets to rattle - in this case you should have the parts replaced.
